5 of 5 Great product my second, and best hub I've used. Sunday, May 04, 2008
A Customer from Buffalo, NY

This hub works well with my Mac computer, after trying several other brands/types that didn't read the devices which were connected. Bought my second for my new MacLaptop. An excellent value for an excellent product!

1 of 5 Hit of Miss with this product Tuesday, April 29, 2008
Tom from Overland Park, KS
I have two identical computer systems set up - one for each of my two in-home offices from which I run a business. I bought my first hub just under two years ago and it has performed without problem. So when it was time to set up the second system, I duplicated it - everything the same including this hub. Two months into use and the darn thing burns up - DEAD - mirroring some other similar reports that I have now read regarding this same product. I am going to order and try one more in hopes that I get one that performs the way of the first one has. I will likely come back and modify this to a higher rating should the third one work

5 of 5 Good USB Hub and Customer Support Monday, April 21, 2008
A Customer from Whitney Point, N.Y.
I had my first F5U237V1 hub for 2.5 years and liked it enough I bought another for my Mother-in-law. My first hub died about two weeks ago. I filled out the online return form at the Belkin website and I received my new hub today, less than a week from the time I mailed my defective hub. I can't talk to the negative issues some reviewer's have had with this model hub but the fact that it has a lifetime warranty and a company that honors the warranty, with no hassles and sends an email when the replacement is shipped speaks volumes to me.

5 of 5 Put your fears aside Thursday, March 20, 2008
Aspendigger from Baltimore MD
I was looking for a 7-port USB hub to set up with my school laptop for home use. This way, I could walk in, plug in one USB plug, and be good to go-printer, wireless keyboard and mouse, external back up drive, MP3 player. I have to admit that the range in prices makes you worry---not to mention reviewers who make claims ranging from loss of device communication, loss of data, and permanent damage to external devices. Eek!
Belkin is a name I know and trust.
This unit comes WITH an AC adapter, something self powered hubs may claim not to need. However, having tried a self powered 4 port hub, I knew I needed more. Problem solved.

5 ports on the back side, and two on the top for easy convenience. both mini USB connection and AC plug into the back with the 5 USB ports. This thing is in a soft touch matte black with low horizontal profile---think Predator spy plane low profile.
This means it does have a larger than smaller footprint (~3x4, plus the necessary 2" clearance behind for plus projecting) but I have the room, so I can live with that.

LEDs actually give you status, and are not just twinkly Christmas lights.

2 vertical ports on top are easy for jump drives or phone or camera quick connect. Spaced too, so you're not scraping knuckles getting to them.

Most amazing-ordered this puppy at noon on one day, and it arrived 23 hours later, free shipping, by way of Fedex. Gotta love that 7-9 day budget shipping, eh?

Recommendation - BUY THIS HUB!

1 of 5 I like Belkin but this product failed--twice! Tuesday, March 18, 2008
Bob Michael from M'Boro TN
Belkin USB 2.0 7-Port Economy Hub - F5U237V1 I like Belkin products but I bought this "economy hub" and half of its ports would not work. Moreover, it overheated to the extent that I could not touch the bottom with my hand and feared it was about to set my desk on fire. This happened twice, because I returned the first and it occurred again with the second replacement. Stay away.

4 of 5 Pretty Good Customer Service From Belkin Monday, March 03, 2008
A Customer from Costa Mesa, CA
I've purchased two of these hubs- one last year and one last week. The first one has been great, no problems. The second one lasted one week. I went to Belkin's website and followed the steps to exchange it. The new one came in about a week. No problems so far. Very easy exchange.

5 of 5 It works well. Wednesday, February 13, 2008
Chad from Grand Rapids, .MI
I brought the unit to replace a 4 port USB hub I had. This new unit obviously has more ports and works as advertised. Overall a good purchase. I would recommend this unit to anyone. I like to 2 USB ports on the top that make using a flash drive quick and easy to get to.

1 of 5 Performace Deteriorates to Uselessness Friday, February 08, 2008
Chuck from Warren, Mass.
I have had TWO of these. After a while, they tend to go into really bizarre and USELESS behavior. There are much better devices available.

5 of 5 Amazing little 7-port USB 2.0 Hub! Tuesday, January 22, 2008
Scott from Berlin, PA
This USB 2.0 Hub is all you could ever ask for! It has 5 ports running horizontally along the back side of the hub. It also has 2 ports running vertically sticking straight up out of the middle. These 2 ports are great for thumbdrives, or just something you need to plug in quick, and need to remove quick. Also, the way the hub is designed, it is stackable, so you can daisy-chain as many hubs together as are supported by USB 2.0 standards. Great buy!

5 of 5 The best USB hub I've used. Wednesday, January 16, 2008
A Customer from Greenville, NC
I purchased this item after looking for a hub with at least 7 ports and with external power. This item fit the bill. When it arrived I was surprised by the small size. I also found that it is stackable if you have two units - another bonus. The two connections on top are easy to access and the lights in the front, while unnecessary, are useful to know how many active USB devices you have connected. My only gripe is that the hub does not have enough mass to stay exactly where you put it when so many cables are connected. This really can't be avoided with such a small device, however (unless you fill it with lead), so it doesn't detract from the overall score. Great buy.

5 of 5 Great Value! Sunday, January 13, 2008

5 of 5 Works Great. Friday, January 11, 2008
A Customer from Bremerton, Wa
I like having two ports on top for jump drives. Its easier to connect/disconnect. Also the power adapter is configured were the bulk is to the side and easily fits in a power strip.

5 of 5 Worth it Monday, January 07, 2008
A Customer from Manassas, VA
After buying lots of "economy" hubs, I finally ended up paying just a bit more for this "economy" hub. It was also the first 7 port hub I bought. Other hubs I have had have been somewhat finicky with the devices it worked with, but this one thus far has had no problems. Definitely worth paying a bit more for this one - and the top loading feature is nice as well.

5 of 5 Belkin 7-Port USB Hub Sunday, January 06, 2008

5 of 5 Great design! Tuesday, January 01, 2008
R. Windell from University Place, WA
I bought one of these for myself a couple of months ago and am so happy with it that I just bought another one for my daughter. I especially like the design -- I use the rear ports for things that I leave plugged in all the time (printer, external hard drive, and wireless mouse), and I use the top ports for things that I tend to remove and plug in a lot (USB sticks and my camera connector).

5 of 5 The standard for USB extenders Saturday, December 15, 2007
A Satisfied Customer from Littleton. CO
I have been neeeding one of these for a while and was waiting for it to go on sale. That never happens on this brand but Buy.com has a great price on it and an $8 rebate to boot! The extender arrived quickly and worked perfectly as expected. There are power and port in use indicators when plugged in. The first two of the seven ports are vertical for memory sticks, the rest are for cable type devices. Get one of these - it is a great deal!

5 of 5 Plug n'play Thursday, December 13, 2007
A Customer from Chicago, IL
The Hub arrived very quickly, and it was simple to connect. All has been well for the 3 weeks I've had it. And to boot, I like the way it looks, much better than the old D-Link I had before. Would buy again, no doubt about it.

4 of 5 Excellent Product, but.... Wednesday, December 12, 2007
william_oswald@yahoo.com from Leander, TX
This is an excellent product with Belkin's typical "works right out of the box" reliability. The only complaints that I have about this product are: 1)needs longer power adapter cord; 2)needs Velcro self-adhesive pads to put it on "top" of your monitor; 3)says it's "stackable", yet no info is provided as to how to do that is in the Users Guide; no obvious way to "stack" it without losing the top 2 USB ports on the bottom hub, rendering the bottom hub a mere 5 port hub. It's an excellent 7 port hub, by itself. It's a slightly less, very good, 5 port hub if another is stacked on top of it (again, needs Velcro pads). Overall, I highly recommend it.

5 of 5 This is my second one and counting... Tuesday, December 11, 2007
A Customer from DaHo
This USB hub is great. I especially like the capability to stack them if you need more USB ports, as is the trend, and having the two easy access top ports allow you to put in those seldom used devices without having to do serious analysis of what is already plugged in. And, at Buy.Com the price is great...

5 of 5 Good device Thursday, November 29, 2007
Dan from Boulder, CO
I have three of these units. One went down with a bad power supply. Replacement power supplies are more expensive than the unit itself is so it was easier to trash the unit and buy another one. The others have been working for a couple of years without a problem. Port locations are convenient but heat can be a problem when you stack them as advertised.

5 of 5 It just works. No fuss. Thursday, November 29, 2007
cschumann@picosystems.com from Blacksburg, VA
I'm using this in an electrical enclosure that houses five other USB data acquisition boards from NI and MCC. Works great. For office use it has two very conveniently ports located on top of the unit so you can plug in flash drives or other temp. devices. nice design.

5 of 5 Great hub with ports on top Wednesday, November 28, 2007
Cary from Vicksburg, MS
With a USB hub, you're mainly looking at two things: ports and convenience. When you need to plug something in, you want to get to an open port without the hassle of moving things or leaning over/behind something to get at it. This USB hub gives you 7 ports with 2 on top. I put the "always plugged in" stuff in the 5 back ports, leaving the top two ports open and handy for whenever you need them. LED status lights give feedback for what's working and other than that, it does just what you want: it works and doesn't cause you any grief. The rubberized coating also gives it a nice, professional feel. Best USB hub I've owned.

5 of 5 Nice Device! Wednesday, November 28, 2007
A Customer from Staten Island, New York
Device works well - only drawback is that it is VERY light and tends to get pulled up in the front, when connecting the USB cables to the rear of the unit. The front indicator lights are a nice touch, so you can see that you have proper connectivity. There is also a red "power" light, ensuring that you are well informed as to the unit's status. Overall, a properly functioning peripheral and well worth acquiring if you need extra USB ports. As mentioned in other reviews, the two "top" USB ports are quite handy for dipping flash drives into them for quick access.

5 of 5 Handy 7-port hub Wednesday, November 28, 2007
A Customer from Yonkers, NY
This external hub works well, looks attractive and takes up little space while providing useful connectivity. I particularly like having seven available ports, especially the two top-mounted ports. They make using flash drives and other peripherals not permanently connected to the hub easy to use.
