2 of 5 So-so product Tuesday, March 18, 2008 Scott from Chambersburg, PA
Works OK, but must be placed fairly close to the antenna and in the right position. The cord wires are pretty fine (flimsy) and will most likely wear out rapidly. It's a little unwieldy dealing with the unit placement, the wires, the unit itself, the mp3 player and batteries, especially when trying to drive, change the station (for better signal) and choosing songs. If the product had a stronger signal output and connected directly to the mp3 player (maybe some type of cradle connection rather than a wire and jack) it would be much better. If I had to do it over again, I would save my money. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Better than Tunecast 2 but still has same weakness Thursday, February 07, 2008 A Customer from Pittsburgh, PA
So, I was looking for an FM transmitter to replace my smashed Belkin Tunecast 2 and came across the Tunecast 3. First off, the display is WONDERFUL compared to the old one, and I like the 20" length of the cable. It's nice to be able to pick up my iPod without dragging the transmitter along with it. Also, the dash mounting bracket is a great idea.
So, the downside is and I noticed this in the Tunecast 2 as well, is that in order to get a good reception on your vehicle the Tunecast power needs to be plugged in to your cigarette lighter. Running the Tunecast on the 2 AAA batteries produces unacceptable static, but after plugging it in, you get pretty good reception. I'm thinking that this might be that the 3v it gets from AAA batteries is insufficient for good transmission. (nerd alert!) Was this review helpful?
