The first of its kind, the TuneStudio is a four-channel audio mixer allowing for digital recordings made directly onto an iPod at 16-bit 44kHz quality in uncompressed WAV format for crystal clear audio. Recorded items can be played back instantly. Audio is streamed though the built-in USB interface to and from a PC or Mac. TuneStudio also works as an external sound card, allowing input and output of audio to a PC from its connectors.

The TuneStudio is compact and rugged, making it ideal for bands on tour as it can withstand life on the road. Jam sessions can be easily recorded by simply attaching instruments and microphones to the TuneStudio. Podcasters can use the TuneStudio to record their shows either in studio or on location.

Each channel has a 3-band EQ and pan and level controls. High-quality Phantom-power-enabled XLR inputs provide up to 60db of microphone gain and a high-quality stereo compressor with makeup gain enhances audio dynamics and keeps audio levels within the recording limits of the iPod. Compression is controlled by a single knob. The TuneStudio features LEDs to indicate master audio level, power status, peak indications, and compressor.

In the box: TuneStudio, power supply, owner's manual, Cakewalk Music Creator LE Software, 3.5mm to 1/4-inch headphone adapter, iPod adapter insert

5 of 5 Amazing value for the price Wednesday, November 11, 2009
A Customer from Central Coast of CA

This product does a fantastic job for the money. I use it with an iPod Nano 3G and it works fine. Note for use with the Nano: the large recording menu button does nothing; you have to navigate to the voice memo menu manually (not a big deal). Also, the backlight button does nothing with the Nano. Again, not a big deal. I agree that the LEDs between the level meters are far too bright. I cured that with a piece of tape. The unit includes a version of Cakewalk software. It works quite well. Cakewalk's editing capabilities are a bit tough to use, but it's workable. The one "gotcha" in this free software is that it will not allow you to export to MP3 format. You have to pay for the full version to do that. However, iTunes will do the wave to MP3 conversion. It just takes an extra step rather than exporting directly from Cakewalk. The addition of XLR mic input connectors and phantom power make the Tune Studio stand out above the competition. The 3 band EQ on eacy input is surprisingly good for the price. I would like to see a S/N ratio of more like 90dB, but again for the price, 80dB is fine.

5 of 5 Great for voice recording Monday, May 04, 2009
AJ the KJ from Santa Rosa, CA
Just hard to get the IPHONE or IPOD to record, have to use a voice note program that you can download easily! Go to APPS and then look for voice notes, etc.

5 of 5 great product, great price Monday, May 04, 2009
A Customer from Shelbyville, IL
my only beef with this thing is the super bright indicator light for the ipod recording. i was using it to record the audio for a video in a dark setting which made the board a little distracting. the actual function of the mixer was great though!

5 of 5 Great little mixer! Monday, April 13, 2009
A Customer from Fairmont, WV
Works super well for recording services and doing podcast. Audio quality is pretty supreme and the board itself is a sinch to use. The mobility of the mixer is also a plus as you can record anywhere you'd like. Thanks for the deal on it. I use it (at least) twice a week.

5 of 5 Really Cool Mixer Tuesday, December 23, 2008
A Customer from Los Angeles, CA
I recently purchased one of these and it is something I use all the time now. I have a band and we use this to record our practice sessions and we do a podcast. I can plug almost any Mic into it and record up to 4 tracks at a time. The interface was really easy to figure out and when we record it goes right onto my iPod classic. Once we are finished practicing, I sync the session to iTunes and upload it so everyone can get a copy.
