4 of 5 Worth the price Saturday, January 19, 2008
Wolf556 from Milwaukie Oregon

Great value, great gadget if you just want it for recharge the Zune, if you want to listen your Zune via your Car Speakers, just forget it, you can not get any signal at all, i tried several free stations, even the ones that Belkin recomends ( based on the zip code you provide them ) you still can not listen any music at all ):. As i said it's great for recharge the Zune and watch pictures. Great value.

3 of 5 Not an FM Transmitter but a car charger Wednesday, January 09, 2008
A Customer from Schaumburg, IL
Bought this expecting a performance like Griffin for iPod. But It's not useful as an FM Transmitter, but just as a car charger. I'm using the cassetter adaptor to play in my car and use this for charging my Zune. Not a worthy $48 car charger when you get much cheaper ones.

This is a great idea, but what a waste of money. The transmitter is terrible and all you hear is static.

1 of 5 Not for the 80GB Zune Friday, January 04, 2008
David from Benton, Ky
Never got a chance to try this product as it will NOT fit the 80GB Zune. I assume it is made for the first generation 30GB Zune but the 80 simply will not fit (and this is/was not specified on the buy.com website but should be).

2 of 5 FM modulator not strong enough Wednesday, January 02, 2008
A Customer from Indianapolis, IN
I like everything about this thing except the weak FM transmitter in it. It keeps the Zune in a good position, up out of the way and keeps it charged. No cables to mess with, just a simple plug and go. It will tune any frequency on the FM band and lets you save the 3 best frequencies in memory. It just doesn't transmit strongly enough as others have said. Plugging in a pair of earphones helps (they act as an antenna) but that defeats the purpose of this. I have a Kensington FM modulator and it works great with the same Zune in the same car (06 Accord) but it doesn't charge the Zune's battery. The best signals I have found are on 88.1 and 88.3 here in Indy but it isn't locked in and there's always some static and hiss in the background.

1 of 5 don't waste your money! Sunday, December 30, 2007
A Customer from St Paul, Minnesota
It is impossible to listen to the songs because of the static on all freqencies. My guess the signal is very weak but as a whole crapy product.

1 of 5 Transmitter? Friday, December 28, 2007
dennis from Beaumont, TX
After Speaking to Belkin Tech support, I have come to the conclusion this is a total piece of junk. I have two of these and have tried them in three different vehichles and tried all the frequencies on Belkins web site for my area. Static is prevelant in all songs all the time. Belkin claims they have no information concerning this problem. I saw where there was a class action lawsuit for some of their other wireless products. I'm sure some interprising lawyer will pick up on all the complaints for this product and do something about it. These where purchased as christmas gifts in October and are now not returnable. Ho Ho Ho!

1 of 5 A piece of garbage Thursday, December 27, 2007
A Customer from Rhode Island
Pure static on every FM channel. The product is advertised as an FM transmitter, yet the only thing it does well is charge your Zune. Don't waste your money.

1 of 5 Transmitter? Thursday, December 27, 2007
dennis from Beaumont, TX
I bought two of these and so far I can't make them work properly. They really must have a weak transmitter in this product because all I get is static when plugged in and working. I tried them in three different cars and they just seem lame. Would not recommend this product unless your just looking for a car charger.

2 of 5 Won't fit in Transmitter Wednesday, December 26, 2007
Tyler from Ogden UT
The Tune base is a great looking item but it needs to to bigger. If you buy the Invisisheild that covers the body of the zune the Tunebase is to small and won't allow you to get the Zune into it. If you try and force the Zune down into the Tunebase it rips you sheild!!! If you are looking for a FM transmitter and you either have or will have a full body Invisisheild it won't fit; you should plan on buying the transmitter sold by Microsoft. But like i said we loved the look and the fit but we never got to use it.......... So i rated the Performance in the Middle

1 of 5 Waste of money Tuesday, December 18, 2007
Rich from Dallas, Tx.
I cannot get the FM tuner to work on any station. I live in the DFW area so there are lots of stations but I also have an IPOD FM tuner that has no problems with finding a station and works great. I will only be using this as a travel charger, I guess.

2 of 5 Sure it charges... Monday, December 17, 2007
Blake McCrary from New Palestine, IN
...but that's not what I wanted it for. If I had just wanted something to charge and hold my Zune, I would have gotten a car charger and put it in my cup holder. I was in a hurry when I made the order, and I made the terrible mistake of just looking at the review numbers, and not actually reading them before I bought this. I can't even really say it's bad as an FM transmitter, because as far as I can tell it doesn't transmit anything. I can't pick up a decent signal to save my life. Frankly I can't comprehend how the other reviewers can say that the FM signal is bad, and then give this such high scores. I'm in Indianapolis and literally can't get a functioning signal. I know for a fact it's not a problem with my radio because I've had friends use their mp3 players with transmitters in my vehicle, and they worked like a charm. If all you want is a holder and charger, then feel free to snag this. You won't be disappointed, it definitely holds and charges. If you actually want a functioning FM Transmitter, avoid this like the plague. I've never made a purchase that disappointed me more. The main reason I got a Zune was to get an FM Transmitter and not have to drag my cd's around with me. I wasted $45 and can't use my Zune for the reason I purchased it until I find a product that actually works. Belkin failed miserably in my opinion.

1 of 5 Not worth it Saturday, December 08, 2007
miagooch from Philadelphia, PA
The belkin zune cradle is horrible. No stations listed by the search at their website have not helped at all. All I get is static with minimal reception. Very disappointed. I am sending this back after giving it over a week to try and work out the kinks. Not even the suggested new antenna helped. Poor.

4 of 5 Works OK, will last long time Friday, December 07, 2007
A Customer from Roanoke, TX
Although I'm not sure how long the power plug will remain tight in the outlet, right now it works pretty good. Reception can be tough if you're in a large metro area where there are too many fm stations. The screen is always on, so carry a small cover for night driving. I'd probably buy it again.

4 of 5 Buy it for the right reasons Friday, December 07, 2007
A Customer from Columbus, Ohio
If you are considering this item so you can listen to your Zune through your radio while your out tooling around in your car, think again. For that matter don't expect any FM transmitter on the market to work worth a %^$&. Simply stated, none do. Unless, that is, you enjoy constantly searching for the next clear channel and even if you find one the music will always sound sub par to an actual radio station. On the other hand, if you looking for a decent car charger and port for your Zune to allow you to listen through the line in jack on your car stereo this is the only real choice you have so I would have to say it's the best on the market. Problem with these reviews is they want you to review a product within a week of buying it. While it may be ok now, who's to say that in a couple more weeks or month the item won't fail or fall apart. With all that said, so far I am happy with the product. Keeping in mind that I purchased it to use as an in car charging cradle and it' s line out jack, NOT for the FM transmitter. As far as value, is it woth the manufacturer list of $79.99? Absolutely not! Is it worth the $49.99 that Buy.com sells it for? Doubtful, but it is the only item like it on the market for the Zune 30. Is is worth the $17.99 is cost after signing up for the Buy.com credit card and applying the $30.00 discount for doing so to the transaction? Sure, as long as it continues to perform and doesn't fall apart. I don't expect that to happen though.

2 of 5 Weak Signal means lots of interference Wednesday, November 28, 2007
Mike G from Athens, GA
I bought this to go with my Zune (which I love) in order to get all of my CD's out of my car and use the Zune instead. I liked what I saw out of the box neat design that stands up in my console. The design is great the perfomance however lacked. I have tried in vain to tune it into my car radio. If I do manage to get a signal it is often very weak. I am looking at different tuners to replace this one

4 of 5 A must have to keep your zune going Saturday, October 06, 2007
A Customer from El Paso, TX
This is a must have product if you plan on using your Zune in your car. The reason is because the Zune uses up its rechargeable battery QUICK and this product keeps your Zune charged and lit up to see what is playing. You never need to worry about low batteries again. I did have one problem with this product, the tuner portion stopped working, but I sent it back to belkin and they promptly sent me a replacement unit.

5 of 5 Cool and easy to use gadget Sunday, August 19, 2007
A Customer from Lanham, MD
The Belkin Tunebase FM for the Zune MP3 player is a good choice for owners of the Microsoft Zune player. I have had this for the past month and I use it everyday. I was looking around for a car charger/base for my Zune and I was so glad to see that there was finally one. There is no installation required and you can plug it into your car's cigarette lighter adapter right out of the box. I do not use the FM transmitter function as I have an Aux input in my car. The only problem I've had is that sometimes the the Tunebase picks up my car engine sound but it is only obvious between tracks or when there is a pause in the music. I love the fact that my player is being continuously charged. Also I am able to continually view the display due to the continuous charging. All I do is slide my Zune into the Tunebase and it automatically powers on. It also has a flexible gooseneck that lets me position my Zune at whatever angle I wish and even lets me positon it sideways to watch a video. I just turn on my car stereo and am ready to rock. I think this item was quite a good deal for the price I paid for it.

5 of 5 Belkin - Zune Transmitter Monday, August 06, 2007
A Customer from Augusta, GA
The Transmitter is very easy to use. Up and down scroll through the stations. Press and hold 1 2 or 3 to program that button for the selected station. The Zune and Transmitter combined are relatively heavy. On the tip of the plug is a foam rubber washer that keeps it from spinning. It is not a very tight fit. If it was wider, or had a larger radius, it would probably be better. When making sharp turns, on ramps, for example, there is a high possibility of it suddenly being upside-down. Other transmitters that connect through your headphone jack give you the volume range of both your stereo, as well as the volume controls on your Zune. With this dock you gain the advantage of it charging your Zune, but you cannot get that additional volume boost from the device itself.

4 of 5 Belkin made well but..... Wednesday, July 25, 2007
A Customer from NJ - Northern
The belkin is definately one of the better made units on the market. I was able to get the unit at a great price compared to BestBuy ect... and that's if they even have it in stock. The only thing that was not great is the reception trying to get a clear channel on the unit with the wireless tuner. If you do get a channel it usually doesn't stay long. I finally just purchased an in-line antenna splitter to get the job done. I mostly just use the device as a car charger/holder now. Hopefully they'll make the newer generations with more transmitting power for now I would say it's a feasable solution until they offer more widely available Zune products or have a converter to utilize the IPod stuff already flooded in the marketplace .... hope this helps

4 of 5 Its great but... Tuesday, June 12, 2007
Mike from Orlando, FL
If you simply want a holder and charger for use in your car this is it. However, the FM modulator is garbage in my opinion, constant static on nearly every channel (Orlando area). To be fair the product does offer a stereo out but this will require you to have another cable either tied into the back of the radio, or running through a tape adapter. One thing that should be noted is that when the unit is turned on the screen stays on while driving, even if you set the timeout for the display on your Zune. In my opinion this makes the car very bright and distracting during night driving.
