4 of 5 Works for my products Tuesday, July 07, 2009
A Customer from Boston, MA

I've used this to charge my Creative Zen and my Garmin GPS. It charges both at the same speed as charging them through my laptop. The plug swivels so that you can have it facing vertically or horizontally. Downsides: (1) I read other reviews and expected the unit to be a little on the big side, and I was actually still shocked at the size. If you picture a standard outlet extender with 3 plugs for a wall, double the depth and add space for a 4th plug and you'll get the size of this one. (2) It says on the instructions not to use it with an extension cord or power strip. I'd have preferred to use it in a power strip so that I could reach it better, but it must be plugged directly into the wall. (3) It would be great if the USB plugs were at the other end of the charger. Why? Because currently if I have it turned vertically with the plug at the top (so that I can plug in something else above it in the outlet), the USB plugs face the other plug in the outlet. The same problem happens if I put the plug at the bottom so that I could put it in the top outlet. This isn't a huge problem since I can just use it horizontally.

4 of 5 On the whole, very satisfied Thursday, April 16, 2009
A Customer from Boulder, CO
Love the usb charge function. Disappointed by the size, as it was marketed as a mini (I would label it a medium). Had I taken out the measuring tape and paid more attention to the dimensions I might not have been as disappointed. So I'm not sure if I'm at fault for not doing thorough research or if the company is for mis-advertising. Overall, I do love it though.

5 of 5 I got the power and the plugs! Sunday, April 12, 2009
JR from NYC, NY
This surge protector rocks/ I use it at work to charge, my GPS, MP3player, cellphone, power my speakers. The USB ports are very handy indeed as I am not allowed to use the USB ports at my computer for personal use at my job. This fit the bill quite nicely. It freed up alot of plugs I was using and my desk has limited space; a big Ol' power strip would have looked unsightly The rotating plug proved very necessary I was able to use a plug seldom used because of the position it is in. It is underneath a ledge providing space to put all my electronics. My hub so to speak. Comes with Lifetime Product and $75,000 Connected Equipment Warranties.

5 of 5 Great for Travel! Sunday, April 12, 2009

I used it on travel to charge my cell phone and mp3 player. It also provides surge protection for my laptop. It really is a great product for the price.

4 of 5 Good, but... Saturday, April 11, 2009
Arkster from New York, NY
It's a very good device, but to name it "mini" is a big misnomer. This is simply false advertizing by Belkin or by Buy.com. It's really big. In addition, when you plug it in, and then try to plug something in the third from the plug receptacle, the whole thing twists, because it doesn't have any support underneath. It's good to have anyway.

4 of 5 Good product worthy of it's customer base Monday, June 23, 2008
Cody from Las Vegas, NV
This surge protector is really well suited for travelers like myself. I would (and have) recommend it to anybody that needs to do any amount of traveling with any gadgets that cost much more than $50 simply because too many places have unreliable power outlets. I travel a LOT, often with a laptop, Cell phone + bluetooth ear pieces, MP3 player, and usually a couple of other gadgets. I wouldn't risk all of those to the poor quality outlets of hotels, or the generally questionable power grid of California where I travel most.

I have a single complaint about the physical design, which is the button used to rotate the plug is extremely difficult to press. It's flush with the surface, and slightly concave. It's also directly adjacent to the prongs, which makes it awkward to try to use solid objects to press on the button while trying to rotate the prongs. I would have preferred Belkin place the button on the side and raised it up from the surface even slightly to make it easier to rotate, and possibly to rotate while it's plugged in. I bought two of these surge protectors, and both are equally difficult to maneuver.

To address some people's complaints about the USB ports not charging some or many of their devices. A couple of the devices named simply don't allow (or like the PSP, have settings that prevent) USB charging. So far none of my gadgets have failed to charge, though I've only tried a few, not exhaustively tested them all.

5 of 5 Protection... + Recharge iPod & bluetooth! Thursday, June 19, 2008
Jimbo from Mechanicsburg, PA
This handy little (1x2x6) product is essential to travelers! Swivel base is very useful in tight quarters. Protection is #1 priority... + I charge my 30gb video iPod & Jabra A125s bluetooth adapter at the same time w/ the included cables (Motorola Razr phone & A90 headphones wait 'til A125s is done). 2 hours later... SNAP... all charged up, an' ready for the road again! Belkin quality protection @ a very reasonable price from Buy.com!

5 of 5 Does exactly what it says Sunday, June 08, 2008
cacharbe from Holmen, WI
Pros: Good size, I like the rotating housing, which allows me to fit it into just about any socket on a client site or in a hotel room. Also, it powers everything with a USB port except... Con: Doesn't power my eBook Reader, but really, I'm sure that's a Sony issue.

5 of 5 Just what the road warrior needs! Saturday, May 24, 2008
mickanger from El Sobrante CA
Why risk your expensive laptop and accessories on dubious hotel power? Play it safe with this handy little insurance policy. Easy to use and it includes 2 USB power outlets to charge up your cell phone or iPod. Truly a no-brainer.

4 of 5 Larger than it could be, but does what it says Saturday, May 17, 2008
Voldomer from Algonquin, IL
This power strip is very handy for use in hotel rooms, when staying with friends, etc. The rotating plug is very helpful, though its utility is compromised a bit by the relatively large size of the power strip itself; with a few things plugged in, the weight can be so much that it gets out of balance and the plug slips out of the wall socket. A nice feature is a cover that fits over the plug; the plug doesn't fold down into the unit for travel, so the cover keeps it from damaging other things in one's bag (also, the power strip has a slot to hold the cover when the strip is in use). As for the USB outlets, they work fine for my iPod; I haven't tried anything else yet, but I have other USB electrical adapters and know that my cell phone, GPS, etc, will not charge that way (even if they will charge via a computer). I certainly recommend this power strip, but I can't help but think that it could be about half the size it is.

4 of 5 Handy for travel, jury out on USB charging Wednesday, May 14, 2008
A Customer from Philadelphia, PA
This is a great item for road warriors or those who travel, very small and light. Nice of Belkin to include a USB charging cable in the box but USB charging does not seem to work universally. I've tried it with several gadgets and it works with most of them: BlackBerry Curve and Pearl, Linksys WIP330 WiFi VoIP phone, Garmin Nuvi 360 all charged just fine. For some reason I couldn't get it to reliably charge my Samsung U470 Juke or my Archos 604. I have two of these and I only tried one of them so it might just be a quirky unit. Overall I'd recommend this strongly for those who need a portable solution. One other thing worth noting is that the plug on the back rotates 360 degrees so you can orient it however you like when plugging it in.

3 of 5 USB a little misleading Thursday, May 08, 2008
ookees from SI, NY
I purchased this surge protector for a great price, I found it online somewhere for $10. The thing is that this surge is a little misleading. I have only gotten the USB ports to charge my ipod. It does not work with my PSP or with my Treo. Its supposed to work with mobile phones and mp3 players and virtually any other USB charging device. My Treo is a mobile phone and it does not work. I tested the same cable with my mac and it charges fine, it just doesn't charge with the surge protector. Its still a great product but it needs more info about it.
