5 of 5 TV's hottest sci-fi drama Tuesday, June 10, 2008 Wil from Hope Valley, RI
If Tom Clancy wrote sci-fi, this would be it. Battlestar is a compelling drama with realistic characters. Absolutely love it!!!! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Fantastic continuation of the new series. Friday, October 06, 2006 Hunter from Birmingham, AL
Obviously you should start from the beginning, if you are new to the series. Season 2.5 continues the great story telling and action of the previous seasons. If you like the series, you will not be disappointed. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Best Sci-Fi Show Ever! Friday, October 06, 2006 Phil from Rockville, Maryland
I'm a big sci-fi fan, and I love shows like Star Trek and Farscape, but I'd be reluctant to play those shows for people who aren't fellow sci-fi nuts. Battlestar, though, has much broader appeal. It's an awesome drama that just happens to be in a sci-fi setting. Sure, it still requires some suspension of disbelief, but the emotional authenticity of the characters' interactions is as strong as in any other show I've ever seen, sci-fi or otherwise. Anyone who doesn't outright hate science fiction should find this show compelling. Was this review helpful?
1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 Great Series, Good Sound, Descent Video Quality Friday, October 06, 2006 Anton from Lomita, CA
The 3 DVD-set packs about 4 episodes per DVD. 5.1 track, pretty well done; video quality was so so; also the cinematography gets a little odd at times.
I guess there is not much point in talking about how great BSG is since this is season 2.5 so anyone buying this would have already seen the previous episodes. If you haven't then make sure you see them first as absolutely nothing would make sense in 2.5
Ohh one note, if you are tempted by the "extended" version of Peagasus its not really worth it. Overall it contains maybe an extra 4 minutes of footage which was cut out from the original... and for a good reason. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 The Writers have turned a 70's sci-fi breakout pro Tuesday, September 19, 2006 Bdubslawman from Midwest, WI
The writers of the new Battlestar Galactica Series have exceeded our expectations. They took some bold steps by replacing a once testosterone boys club into a real life future world with parallels to our world.
Besides fantastic writing-plots, the visual effects are tremendous. They have corrected many of the mistakes of space flight. This isn't just for SCI-FI nuts. The writing and acting draws you into the story. The first "Movies" in the series draw you into the world seemlessly and make you glad that we have the freedoms we do. IT's AMAZING!
