5 of 5 Excellent Value, Size and Performance Saturday, July 15, 2006 John B. from Cochranville, PA
I purchased this laptop 4 months ago from Buy.com. I was looking for an ultra portable laptop with good battery life and I found it. The Pentium-M processesor works well, I would suggest maxing the memory at 2GB, it makes a world of difference. The only downfall is to upgrade the memory you must remove the entire bottom of the unit to get to the memory banks, but CompUSA and Circuit City will do it for you for a nominal fee. The screen is bright and clear, you have to get used to the small print on the 10.6" screen but it is easy to adapt. The battery life with the wireless on is almost 3.5 hours, That is adequate for most applications, I go away for the weekend and can get email, surf the net and upload photos from a digicam without needing to recharge. I would suggest an external mouse, but I have never been much of a fan of touchpads. The overall durability of this laptop is good, I tend to keep it well padded during travel and don't bump it around much but it seems to take the wear and tear well. The wireless b/g is fast and has a good antenna and the CDRW/DVD is a nice bonus since the other ultra portables I've had did not have CD drives built in. Overall, go for it, I think you'll be happy with this one. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent Value! Thursday, May 11, 2006 hwonders from Saxonburg PA
I purchased a 1020 as a air travel notebook (My 12lb+ Sager was tedious to carry). It's a very nice notebook. It has snappy performance, a very bright screen and lasts 4 hrs on the battery. It plays Divx video well and the 60GB harddrive is large enough to hold all my applications, data and 20 or 30 video files. You can't do much with games but as a business notebook it shines. And it's $1000 less than the mainstream brands. Was this review helpful?
