The Mojo: Austin Powers life force, the secret behind his libido, has been stolen by his arch nemesis, Dr. Evil.
The Mission: Austin must time travel back to the Swinging Sixties, regain his mojo and save the world from destruction.BRIEF: The year is 1999 and Austin Powers (Mike Myers) is honeymooning with the smashing Vanessa Kensington (Elizabeth Hurley) when he receives an explosive surprise that returns him to single swinging status. To make matters worse, Dr. Evil (Myers) has returned to Earth from the frozen recesses of space and is hatching a new diabolical scheme to annihilate the world. It seems Dr. Evil uses a newly developed time machine to travel back to 1969, where he steals Austin Powers mojo, rendering Austin...powerless? Luckily, British Intelligence has developed a unique time machine of their own - a psychedelic Volkswagen Beetle. In the biggest Austin Powers adventure yet, the International Man of Mystery must travel back to the Swinging Sixties, track down his mojo and thwart Dr. Evils plot to destroy the world. Of course, along the way, Austin meets his match in CIA operative Felicity Shagwell (Heather Graham), a fab chick, a hot spy and a fantastic motivation for restoring his libido.

In his second screen adventure, groovy superspy Austin Powers (Mike Myers) returns to 1969, where one after another hilarious gag is worked into a silly, stumbling, knee-slapping plot. This time around, Austin Powers' arch-nemesis Dr. Evil (also Myers) is joined by a midget-sized clone of himself, Mini-Me (Verne Troyer). Having successfully stolen Austin's "mojo" (his libido), Dr. Evil can concentrate on his ultimate mission of destroying the world. Mike Myers is one funny fellow! Austin Powers was a very funny movie and this one follows up the first effort very well. All of the stick and stunts are back in this sequel plus more pretty young things for him to persue. Dr. Evil is up to his old ways and has two new co-baddies to help in his evil ways. Very entertaining film but definitely not a movie for children. The movie is basically about Uranus and I am not talking about planets here. Basically, this movie is the same plot as the first one, but I didn't care! I laughed uncontrollably. Kudos to Mike!
And to the lady below who rates it a 1 out of 10 who has NEVER SEEN THE MOVIE, you are the type of person whois causing this country the biggest amount of grief. Why can't you leave people alone? Shielding kids from this only screws them up later in life. The key is EDUCATION, but since you have none I wouldn't expect you to understand how much of an advantage this can give someone. Great movie! By no means a 10, but still great. Many of the jokes are rehashed from the first movie, but they're still just as funny.
As a response to those who may have said 'this movie is about sex' and made 'just to make money'... well, you're obviously missing the point if you think this movie is encouraging kids to go and have sex. It's a comedy filled with innuendos, no more than most movies or television shows. Mike Myers is a great comedian who I have yet to see sell out as you implied. I gave it 6 on cinematography and plot, becuase... well, to be quite honest, it's not really an award winning script, or camera work. The acting deserves a 9, however, souly do to the fact that Mike Myers plays 3 parts in this movie, all different. He does a wonderful job of it.
Overall get's a 10, becuase: It's a rad movie. Sure it's not a tear-jerker and it doesn't give me the shivers, but for what it is, a fall-off-your-bum-laughing comedy, it's running on all 8 cylinders. I loved it, and will continue to for many years to come. Was this review helpful?

Dear Mr/Mrs. Wayneboro: Grow up and get a clue!
This movie was not made for kids, parents who let their pre-teen aged kids watch this movie need to realize it wasn't meant for them. Just because it isn't appropriate for all ages we should gather together as a society and not watch it and enjoy it!?? Go live is some government-run county that tells you what you can and can't watch. Saving Private Ryan isn't a good movie for young kids either, should we ban that too!?

This movie is NOT all about sex. It is a comedy. I think if you were to aim the blame on something, try American Pie, or movies like that where TEENS are TRYING to have sex. And that is the whole idea for the movie. Austin Powers is just fun, it is making fun stuff out of the 60's. It is FUNNY! It is a joke, not real. Ok, first of all, to the person who thinks that this movie is a disturbance to all of the children, you are wrong. I myself am 17 years old, I do not see movies and then try to relive what is in them. If you have kids and do not want them to do things from the movie, Don't let them see it. I am sick of people blaming hollywood for all of the bad travesties that have happen. It is not there fault. You should have control over what your children see, if they cannot handle it, you should not let them watch it. This is addressed to the person that obviously has no sense of humor and is interested in destroying funny movies such as this one. If are so concerned about your children do then then blame yourself, not movies. Movies, nor TV or any other kind of media, is to blame for what happens to kids. If anyone is to blame its parents such as yourself, they are the ones that set examples. I am guessing that it is also people like you that shelter kids from the real world, these are the type of children that grow up not knowing what to expect, can't survive in the real world, and make mistakes you are descibing. The bottom line is that people like you need to lighten up, this is America, a place where we can enjoy movies such as Austin Powers, if you don't like it then fine, but don't blame it for somone else's fault. When hearing that they were bringing out a sequal to what I believed to be one of the funniest movies I have ever seen I was very excited, and after seeing this film I was not disapointed! It was a lot better than the original film with some new gags and some new characters such as 'fat b***ard' and 'mini-me' who added to the films greatness. This film never got boring and constantly kept making me laugh out loud, if you don't see this film your life is incomplete. All I can say is I can't wait for Austin Powers 3 as 'The Spy Who Shaggged Me' once again leaves it open for another sequal! Was this review helpful?
