In this 5 time Emmy-winning comedy's hilarious second season, Michael Bluth, once again determined to be free of his dysfunctional family, packs up the car and his son George-Michael and heads for Arizona. But he's soon pulled over by the police who tell him that his father, George Sr., has broken out of prison. Due to the company's shady business deal with Iraq, Michael could face prison time, so he returns home to clear his name even as George Sr. secretly flees to Mexico, Tobias decides to be an understudy for the Blue Man Group, and Lucille begins a torrid affair with her husband's twin brother, Oscar. Arrested Development Season 3 will begin airing this fall on FOX.

"Once in the history of time comes a sitcom like Arrested Development."  Entertainment Weekly
"...one of the most hysterically ridiculous half hours on television."  Tim Goodman, San Francisco Chronicle

Editor's Note

The Bluth family returns for another season of life after credit cards, in this revolutionary award-winning comedy. Michael Bluth (Jason Bateman) is the voice of reason in the midst of a blue-blood clan of crazies who have become acclimated to the life of luxury after patriarch George Sr. (Jeffrey Tambor) earned a fortune in the tract-housing business. When George is arrested on charges of tax fraud, however, the family's assets are frozen, and the resulting life of relative poverty proves difficult in many unexpected ways. Matriarch Lucille (Jessica Walter) is an emotionally stunted alcoholic, who in season two hires a bounty hunter to find George Sr., who has run off to Mexico--maybe. The Bluth siblings include Lindsay (Portia de Rossi), a socialite whose multitude of causes serves to further her own social career; Gob (Will Arnett), a womanizing illusionist; and Buster, a mama's boy who spends his time pursuing a nebulous career as a grad student. Lindsay is married to Tobias (David Cross), an out-of-work actor and former doctor whose sexuality remains undefined. Michael, in addition to tending to the foibles of his siblings, spends much of his time trying to be a good dad to his earnest 14-year-old son, George Michael (Michael Cera). This collection contains all the episodes from the third season.

As the last arrival in a so-far disappointing sitcom season, Arrested Development is heaven-sent for anyone who has longed for something, anything, a little outside the comedy norm. Well, actually, you'd better want to go pretty far outside the norm, because Arrested is certainly out there. - Robert Bianco

5 of 5 GREAT SHOW Tuesday, December 09, 2008
A Viewer from California

Arrested is one of the funniest shows out there. BUY.com has good pricing, but COSTCO is selling the entire three seasons with a free banana stand tshirt for a much lower price.

5 of 5 Get this DVD set! Friday, October 20, 2006
JAS from SB, CA
Arrested Development is one of the best series from TV. It is so funny, off the wall, unexpected, ridiculous, I laugh during every episode...and have to watch a scene over because I laugh too loud and miss the dialogue. It is not a show to watch while you are doing something else...each phrase, each expression, each side-ways glance is a gem to tickle your sense of humor. The sly mockery is genius. The acting is superb. Each episode, each character takes you places you'll not see on tv today. This is not usually a 'traditional feel-good' show ...it is often disturbing...delightfully so. And Ron Howard narrates each episode...and even makes fun of himself. The dvd outtakes are good, the commentary for a couple of episodes is good, the show is the star though. This is the wackiest family and most bizarre situations...a lot of twists in the plot too...Get all the Arrested Development DVDs...well worth it. Oh...and Liza Minelli is absolutely fantastic, just perfect.

5 of 5 best show on and off the air . . .as well as Earth Thursday, September 28, 2006
A Viewer from NY, NY
For those of you interested in the smartest and funniest show this is for you. I do recommend that you watch the first two seasons before this one as the jokes do add up and are rather intricate. You will fall in love with the characters and will want there to be another season. Just buy it!!! Its so worth it.

5 of 5 Hilarious, Buy this DVD! Thursday, September 21, 2006
A Viewer from Columbia, SC
If you like smart comedy (shows that don't need a laugh track or an applause sign) you'll love Arrested Development. If you watch the show you will definitely laugh, but if you actually pay attention while watching, you'll be rolling on the floor. The third season completes my Arrested Development set and I believe it is just as well-written and performed as the other two. The third season was cut short due to low ratings, but I believe this was largely due to the fact that Fox never ran more than two episodes on consecutive weeks (sometimes going over a month between episodes) and provided virtually no advertising compared to its more slap-stick type shows like "The War at Home" and "American Dad." Like many cutting-edge shows (Cheers, Seinfeld) this show struggled to find its market early, but where NBC stuck by quality, Fox abandoned it with Arrested Development (and, for that matter, Family Guy's first run).

5 of 5 Tragically Off the Air Monday, September 18, 2006
Joseph S. from Philadelphia, PA
Arrested Development was one of the cleverest most entertaining shows on television, however not enough people "got it" and so its rating remained weak even as we the fans laughed our butts off. This is the end of the show which neatly wraps up the long established plotline. It completes my collection and wraps up the story with all the fun twists we'd come to expect. It is a shame that we can never see new episodes again but at least I have them all on DVD snice they have infinite replay value.

5 of 5 Rest In Peace Friday, September 15, 2006
greylord72 from NE Ohio
Herein rests the final 13 jaw-dropping, hysteria-inducing, laugh 'till it hurts episodes of one of television's finest comedies. Frankly, considering today's 'comedies', it's a wonder it lasted as long as it did. If this show had a flaw, it's that it was just too smart for it's own good, with a few too many double and triple entendres; too many subtle visual shenanigans; and over-the-top comedic situations that danced between the edge of the hilarious and the absurd. The very best that comedy had to offer. If people didn't like it, chances were good that it was because they just didn't get it....but that's okay, because it wasn't written with them in mind. Niche audience? Maybe. But what a great niche it was. I loved this show and I think if you give it a chance....you will too.

5 of 5 One of the best TV comedies ever---a bittersweet f Friday, September 15, 2006
Sam from Greensboro, NC
For what turned out to be its last season, Arrested Development took its trademark wacky plotlines, snappy dialogue, and well-drawn characters to even sillier extremes, it seems to me. I eagerly anticipated the release of this third season to see the unaired episodes, which did not disappoint---unlike Fox's decision to cancel the show. With so many great cameos (often rewarding for fans of sketch comedy) and memorable episodes, the antics of the Bluth family will be sorely missed. Thank goodness the last season has been released in full. If you're a fan, I can't recommend it enough---but then, you probably alread own it.

The only thing bad about this DVD is knowing this is the last we'll see of the show. I recommend it to any fan. It's a must buy.

5 of 5 Will go down as one of the BEST SHOWS of all time Sunday, July 09, 2006
Michael Mott from Fond du Lac, WI
Arrested Development is one of those shows that was ahead of its time. Ten years from now people will realize what a great show this was when it is on repeats on Nick at Nite. I guess the fact that we got three great seasons of Arrested is a reason to be happy. There has never been a show that rewarded the hard core fan for watching every second of every episode. The jokes were so dense and deep in the show that they had multiple meanings. Arrested is a show meant for the Tivo and DVD age.
