5 of 5 Just what I was looking for Friday, May 22, 2009 A Customer from Corpus Christi, TX
This is worth twice the price! Put this on top of my cable provided DVR which normally puts out a tremendous amount of heat in my A/V cabinet. Guess what? Heat is gone and door can be kept closed. If you are having cooling issues, buy this product! But unlike some other cooling options (fans mounted on the rear or side of the cabinet), this one is quite visible in the cabinet. Antec did a nice job making the fan enclosure look almost like another AV component, but if you don't have vertical space for it, or if that's not to your taste, this probably isn't the solution for you. For me, I like the look a whole lot. The cabinet blends in nicely with the rest of my gear and the blue LED even matches the blue accent LEDs on the rest of my A/V components with no noticeable fan noise. Perfect. 2 of 5 Too Freakin Loud! Wednesday, September 10, 2008 A Customer from Manchester, NH
At low speed, which is still quite audible, not much cooling is taking place. At high speed, it is really quite annoyingly loud. The fans appear to couple with the shelf and use it as a sounding board. It does reduce the convection heating of components higher in the rack by a noticeable amount. If you are trying to extend the life of toasty gear, this is not your solution. Was this review helpful?
