5 of 5 Pretty quiet and moves lots of air! Tuesday, June 10, 2008 smdscott from Reno, NV
I purchased this to cool my Nvidia GeForce card, which was hardlocking my system as it overheated. I expected there to be a considerable noise difference in my otherwise stock HP Pavillion m9077c machine with the 22 cfms, but I was very pleased with the results. Yes, I can now hear a fan (though nothing loud or obnoxious), but it is also pushing a LOT of air out of the system. It seems to exhaust more than the case exhaust fan! By the way, my system hasn't suffered a single hardlock since the fan installation. Was this review helpful?

I bought this slot fan in order to sit next to an overclocked GeForce2 Pro and cool my system. Noise was a major factor in my buying decision, so this fan cought my eye, rated at a rather quiet 28db. I just installed it and it pushes out a lot of air, far more than my power supply's fan. It works as advertised, and only occupies 1 pci slot (although it is a tight fit). Concerning real-world noise, It is pretty quiet. The only noise I hear is the noise of the air whooshing out of the back. It doesn't have the oh-so-annoying whine of many cpu fans. However, it is not completely silent. The low "whoosh" sound is present; however, this sound is still rather quiet for the amount of air pushed out. If you need lots of cooling power and want a relatively quiet fan, this will offer just that at a good price. Was this review helpful?
