5 of 5 Solid piece of equipment Thursday, October 29, 2009
Max from Blacksburg, VA

Lightweight, relatively tough (it's dealt with my abuse). Weakest point is the panel that holds the cable when not in use (mine is currently missing). That being said, it does its just and really helps keep laptops with bottom-draw fans cool. I also like the aluminum build and inverse feet on the top(really helps to lift my computer up).

5 of 5 Best cooling tray on the market Monday, June 22, 2009
FrogurtX from Rohnert Park
See title. It really is though, the design is flawless. The aluminum draws heat away from the base, and the two giant fans keep the whole system cool. Plugging it into the laptop doesn't take away a USB port, and on top of that, the power cord can be stored inside the tray. I bought 2 more for family and they all work like a charm.

4 of 5 Good Laptop Cooler Saturday, March 28, 2009
A Customer from Montana, USA
Being a long-time Antec fan, I bought this even before buying my laptop! Plug the power cord into a USB port, set the laptop on top of the cooler, and that's all there is to it! Based on temperature readings, the Antec Notebook Cooler has had a good impact on lowering the internal temperatures of the laptop. After a month of gentle use, I've noticed that the power cord insulation has peeled back from the USB end of the cord. Although this hasn't disrupted the flow of electricity, Antec customer service decided to send me a replacement for it. Make sure that all four of the little rubber knobs on the corners of the top of the unit are present before setting your laptop on it! Otherwise, the gridded metal surface of the notebook cooler will act as a cheese grater to the bottom of your laptop. This is still the best notebook cooler I've seen, and would definitely buy more if I had more laptops!

4 of 5 Good product, but not great. Saturday, March 07, 2009
A Customer from Elmhurst, IL
In the past I purchased a generic notebook cooler and it lasted ~6 months before one of the fans broke, and it then continued to work with only one fan for another 6 months. I had high hopes for this notebook cooler, and I would not say that my expectations were met. It is NOT a quiet cooler. After 6-months of use the fans will occasionally scrape on other components and this creates a loud noise. However, it hasn't outright broken after 6-months. I believe it is likely one of the better options available, but it did not outperform my high expectations.

4 of 5 Good product. Tuesday, December 30, 2008
A Customer from pgh, pa
I bought it for my toshiba laptop. The cooler works well and helps in keeping the laptop cool. however, please look at the location of your fans underneath the laptop and make sure that the fan does not blow air into the fan, thus opposing the laptop fan. I have to keep may laptop off center to prevent cross air directions

4 of 5 So good, I bought more Friday, December 19, 2008
Julia Henderson from Opp AL
I had a problem of my Dell Inspiron 1501 overheating so much it would shut itself down. I bought this product about 3/4 months ago. It works so well that I purchased another one for my grandson's computer. Also purchase one for grandson's first cousin computer. I run mine on the low setting and have not had an overheating problem again. The only problem with this product is the BRIGHT blue light. I just cover mine up with a paper towel. If your problem is overheating, buy this product, it WORKS!!!!!

5 of 5 keeps my lap cool Thursday, November 13, 2008
Lucy from Rochester, NY
I like that this cooler keeps my lap and the laptop from getting extremely hot. The only part I don't like is that the little rubber feet keep falling out. I don't think that not having them would compromise the performance, but it's just annoying. I got it for cheaper than it is now, so I would say shop around.

2 of 5 Stop working after 4 months Friday, October 24, 2008
The Evil Rabbit from Los Angeles, CA
My cooler worked fine at first. But after 4 or so months, I noticed no air was blowing out despite the lights going on. So I ended up buying another cooler that has lasted me (so far) 2+ years. But as a positive, just elevating your laptop will cool your laptop as opposed to just lying on a wooden desk; so it's still somewhat functional after it stops working.

4 of 5 Performs well, but I wish the fans were reversible Sunday, October 12, 2008
im2late from Northeast USA
On the whole, this cooler conducts air well enough and with a tolerable noise level. The cooler is also rather solidly built compared to others I've seen. So if the air flow is right for your laptop, you should consider this item. In my case however, the fans of this cooler work against the fans on my notebook so I have to be careful about placement. I'd read about this, but was hoping that the fans wouldn't line up in a detrimental way. Unfortunately they do. I'd love to be able to crack open the case and reverse the cooler fans. Will probably call Antec to see if they can support me through such a change. IN the meantime, creative placement of the laptop on the cooler helps prevent the creation of a vacuum between the two devices. If your laptop fans suck air in through the bottom and blow it out the side vents of the laptop, look for a cooler that blows air into the base of your notebook to so as to compliment the airflow of the laptop.

5 of 5 Good quality for the price! Thursday, September 18, 2008
A Customer from Pittsburgh, PA
I bought this notebook cooler for my Dell Latitude D620 that had started getting heated up repeatedly. The cooler is just what I had needed: good to use as soon as you open the packet and keeps my laptop happy! The high speed use mode is noisy by my standards, but the low speed mode is what suffices for day-to-day use. I was so impressed by the performance of this notebook cooler that I got another one for my Dad's laptop that was having similar heating issues. I'd recommend this cooler to anyone looking for a decent cooling solution for their laptops at a down-to-earth price. :)

4 of 5 It works as advertised Monday, September 08, 2008
Kelly from Greenwood, IN
My laptop gets very hot from using it so much. The fan really does cool things off which makes it a lot more comfortable to work with in my lap. I like the fact that it has 2 speeds with the low speed being really quite and the high speed being loud enough to notice but not annoy. There are only 2 things that drive me nuts. One is trying to plug it into the back of my Inspiron 1501 and two is the really bright blue light that I had to cover up with a sticker. Even with that, I would recommend this item to anyone who gets tired of burning their legs while working on their laptop.

5 of 5 comfortable Monday, September 01, 2008

3 of 5 Good if your laptop doesnt get that hot Monday, August 25, 2008
Christina from Salt Lake City, Utah
I have had several laptop coolers. My laptop gets VERY hot unfortunately (thanks Dell) and there dont seem to be any coolers that can keep up with it. I think this cooler would be fine if your laptop only gets moderately warm. The rubber legs are a little hard to insert into the holes and then you have to balance your laptop on them. The blue light is a bit annoying.

5 of 5 Great Product Monday, July 14, 2008

Keeps computer cool and is quite quiet even on high speed. Much better than any other chill pad that I've tried. The only drawback is that it has been months since I applied for my rebate and I still haven't received it.

5 of 5 excellant Friday, June 27, 2008
Bonny from New York
Guys, this is perfect colling fan for Notebooks. I purchased it few months ago, and have not any problem yet. Works silently that you never know that is it working or not. So much silent, may be your notebook inbuilt fan make noise, but Antec will never make noise. Its "Sucking hot air from notebook" mechanism makes it even batter compare to other branded ones. Due to this it directly reduce temperature significantly, but you need to just adjust its fan with most hot part of notebook, i.e. RAM & Hard Drive. And then see the coolness of your notebook. More over its USB connection has an adapter for other USB, so your usb port will always available even after using for fan. Its only limitation is cord and connection to fan is very flimsy, you may need special attention for it. And it had not on/off switch. you have to manually remove plug from notebook to stop it. Ok guys! What more you need to cool your notebook in this summer?

5 of 5 omg its amazing Thursday, June 19, 2008
Michael Deepal from wichita,ks
I brought this really sucky laptop hp pavilion dv6000. It used to get very hot. Recently i found out that my notebook was shutting dowm and then the speedfan utility gave gpu as 80, hard drive as 65 and both the cores at 60 c. After using this product the temperature have dropped down by atleast 15c and my cores are now running at 30c. The noise from the antec fans are less when compared to my notebook fans. So i would rate this product 10 out of 10. I dont know why people give bad comments on this beautiful product. The only drawback i would say is the disgusting blue led on the side

4 of 5 heat absorption good styling Wednesday, May 28, 2008
CHristian from Bedford, TX
This cooler is very well built, nice design, well fit for a 4:3 15 inch laptop. I can barely hear the fans. Works well for me, I like to be using my laptop in bed and now it doesn't overheat or turns off. the only problem is the blue light to the side, but u can put a sticker and u won't see that light again.

5 of 5 It does what is expected.. Tuesday, May 27, 2008
Electronic fan from Diamond Bar, CA
We have habit of watching DVD movies in Laptop at night just before sleeping. We always plugin power chord as we are running DVD. I put the laptop on my thighs. The heat and the burning feeling called out for a notebook cooler. We bought this cooler and are very satisfied. I tried feeling for the heat and its not there any more! Its quiet too. The only complaint is the base is bit rough on downside and won't be comfortable on the lap. As earlier, I do use a dining pad and I am ok with it. It can easily be connected to Dell or Toshiba, which I tried. For the Dell, I rotate 180 degrees, so that the USB can be connected to the right. I am pretty sure, wherever your USB (top, bottom, right or left), this can be easily connected, if you don't mind reading "Antec" upside down :-).

4 of 5 HONEST REVIEW: Good Product with one big flaw Tuesday, May 27, 2008
Reality Check from Denver - CO
I like my Antec cooling pad. The option of a USB pass-thru cable for a laptop with only 2 USB ports is important. The case seems better made than the competition, and the air ducting is nice if you plan to use this on your lap. The dual speed fan setup is a nice option though I'd prefer to have a third thermostatic setting for auto-speed at this price level. The device is flat and thus can be used for more than computing equipment - this one will help keep my new Yamaha RX-V1800 receiver cool. THE FLAW: The USB cable is not long enough. My only USB ports are on the rear right corner of my laptop (an old dell D600), the power connector for the cooler is on the middle left, and the length of the USB cord and the unidirectional USB pass-thru make it nearly impossible to reach. Had my USB ports been located on the right side of my laptop the cord would have had to go between the bottom of the laptop and the cooler and even then I'm not sure it would reach. For those of you with wide screen laptops and only right side USB you may need a USB extension cable.

5 of 5 pretty good Tuesday, May 27, 2008
A Customer from jungle gym of truth
just as a note this cooler pulls air down and away from the laptop so if your laptop pulls in air from the bottom then this will be working in opposition to it. this thing works pretty good on the high fan speed setting it pulls a lot of air and keeps my laptop cool even when I leave it on all day long. on the low setting it nearly silent and still does a great job of cooling. construction of it is quite good its a lot more durable than i expected. overall this thing does what I need it to do and seems like it will last a while

5 of 5 Great Product Tuesday, May 27, 2008
A Customer from Lockport NY
I have bought 2 of these in the last six months. My wife loved hers so I bought one for myself. It keeps my computer and my lap cool. My wife likes the way it raises her laptop to a more comfortable height when it is on her lap. I like the rubber feet that keep my computer from sliding around on it. Just be careful that you don't throw them away by accident as they come in a little plastic bag and you have to insert them yourself. Great product if you get it with the rebate!

5 of 5 Antec Notebook Cooler Tuesday, May 27, 2008
A Customer from West Palm Beach, FL
My notebook was spewing hot lava before this thing came to the rescue. It does its job, is unobtrusive and invisible and very quiet. Highly recommended. I am using this for the past one month, so I cannot comment on its longevity. However, I use the computer 8-10 hours a day so I would know pretty soon if it does not hold up.

Antec Notebook Cooler achieves well what its name denotes. The ingenious pass-through USB plug is welcome. Only the lack of an on-off switch keeps this Antec product from being perfect from the user's perspective.

5 of 5 Beats out the competition Tuesday, May 27, 2008
A Customer from Birmingham, AL
Two previous Targus coolers, one died after a week, the other required a rather convuluted connection and it never felt cool. The cord finally broke so I did without for a while. The Antec was a good buy with the rebate (yet to receive that), cools much better than Targus, has survived some abuse, remains quiet. Keeps my lap as well as the laptop cool. Connection is out of the way. USB cord included is double-ended so I don't lose a port. Also gives the option of two fan speeds. Like this one a lot, and it does its job.

The product was poorly made. The aluminum edges are sharp and may cut you. Cable compartment & cover is flimsy --- requires some effort to store cable. Cover is not secure, easily pops out. Will be returning this Antec Notebook Cooler quickly.

5 of 5 Keeps system cool Friday, May 09, 2008
K from NJ
I have had my laptop motherboard burn out a couple of times before I bought this. Have had this for 6 months now and boy am I glad I bought it. Trust me when I say this thing works. {Yes my laptop sucks, but I have a warranty and it covers me for these issues ;)}. Anyways, it keeps the system temp and HDD temp low and reduces the motherboard temp drastically too. Overall a good purchase, but check if this would work well with ur laptop.

Double A from Aiken, SC
Purchased for 20 from Staples when it was on sale. I have used it for over a month and cannot complain at all about it. The cable comes out very close to my usb ports so I don't have a lot of cable hanging everywhere. I always keep it on low and don't have any problems with the laptop (Dell Vostro) overheating. Of course, usb locations and fans are subject to vary from laptop to laptop so keep that in mind.
