"Raunchy gags gave this film its reputation, but they grow honestly out of its believable characters and situations." Peter Travers, Rolling Stone
 Editor's Note
A surprise hit comedy, Paul and Chris Weitz's AMERICAN PIE follows four high school friends--Jim (Jason Biggs), Finch (Eddie Kaye Thomas), Kevin (Thomas Ian Nicholas), and Oz (Chris Klein)--through their sexually frustrated senior year. Boy-next-door Kevin hopes to finally lose his virginity to his bubbly girlfriend, Vicky (Tara Reid), while football player Oz begins an unlikely relationship with quiet chorus girl Heather (Mena Suvari). Finch struggles to maintain his cool air of witty detachment, while the neurotic Jim, most famously, has an intimate moment with apple pastry--and, eventually, sexy exchange student Nadia (Shannon Elizabeth). This hysterical yet sensitive movie also features memorable characters such as the ever-wise Jessica (Natasha Lyonne), the imbecilic Stifler (Seann William Scott), the dorky Sherminator (Chris Owen), the flute-playing Michelle (Alyson Hannigan), and Jim's hilariously nerdy dad (Eugene Levy).

The Unrated Version of this movie is really nothing special. Except for a certain affectionate pie scene being different, everything is still the same as the orginal. However, since this version is priced the same as the Rated one, why not buy it. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 American Pie - Yay! Wednesday, December 29, 1999 Big John from Arcadia, CA
Despite a horrid layer switch (Pana A120), the movie is basically the same as the original theatrical version. The only real difference is that instead of... well you'll have to buy it to find out. I found the commentary track to be enlightening and surprisingly long (1.5 hours). Most of the time, they skip through the movie and only show parts they are talking about... here they actually showed parts that no one had feeling about. Was this review helpful?

For those of you that saw this in theaters, now's your chance to see the stuff that they couldn't show us. As if the movie wasn't full of sick and perverted humor, the unrated version adds so much more. I guarantee that you'll laugh twice as hard after watching all the new footage. Seconds anyone? 4 of 5 Funny as hell!! Tuesday, December 28, 1999 Crash from Tulsa, Ok
This is one of the funniest movies I've seen in a long time. You'll cough up a lung it's so damn funny. If you like high school humor look out, this is da bomb. Makes Porky's seem a boring as a church cookout. Get the un-cut version for full enjoyment. Buy it, enjoy it, show your friends. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Glitch Saturday, December 25, 1999 aggie94 from Killeen, TX
The uncensored copy is close to the sensored version, but there may be a glitch in the reproduction to DVD on the uncensored version. In chapter 16 at 77min10sec the DVD player begins a search and then continues at Chapter 16 77min 11 sec. So hopefully Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 American Pie is Hilarious! Thursday, December 02, 1999 A Viewer from Carrollton TX
American Pie is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen at the theater. 'There's something About Marry' is probably considered one of the funniest commmedies during the past several years. However, in my opinion American Pie is a much funnier film. You're side will be hurting from laughing so much. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 American Pie-In Your Face! Saturday, November 20, 1999 abynorml29 from Palm Coast, FL
American Pie is one of the funniest, bawdiest movies I've seen. I wouldn't compare it to 'There's Something About Mary', except that I reacted the same way to both movies. Hysterically!
I'm 46 years old and my daughter is 17--we both loved it! But then I've always had a sick sense of humor. Don't miss it! Was this review helpful?

This was the funniest movie of the decade, by far! I totally recommend this movie to anyone under the age of 30, who's looking for a comedy to watch over and over again. This movie can easily be compared to the best comedies of all time, like Bachelor P Was this review helpful?

This is a non-stop, fall out of your seat, funny movie. The acting is great. The movie does a great job portraying sex in a childs mind, while making a joke of it at the same time, I would highly recommend it. Was this review helpful?
