Alto Portable Laptop Stand

This is a great laptop stand if you are going to set it up for at least a few days. Its less than "portable" but is a great keyboard, provides extra USB ports and nicely raises your display to a comfortable eye level. Its a bit heavy and bulky to port in a suitcase or briefcase but performs great once its set up. I highly recommend this Logitech notebook stand.

The Alta feels very sturdy, and is a great portable solution for a keyboard other than the notebook's keyboard. Although the specifications do not say so, this is compatible with the MacBook. I bought if for my wife's MacBook, and it works just fine with it. She loves it.

I had a very lengthy court brief that I needed to work on at home over the weekend and was dreading having to TRY to type on my laptop keyboard, so I ordered this gem. It worked like a charm, with a good feel (although a little softer touch than my work desktop computer, but sooo much better than the laptop keyboard), and no wrist fatigue. I highly recommend this to anyone having to type on a laptop.

Logitech has the best keyboards and this unit is no different. The keyboard is one of the most comfortable that I have ever used. Needs absolutly no software, there isn't even any available for optional download. Logitech claims that Windows has the drivers built in, but when I went to use the extra media and search buttons, they didn't work. Probably the laptop's fault and not the keyboard's though, I never use these keys anyway so I haven't even investigated the problem yet. I wanted to buy the power upgrade for the keboard so the buttons light up and I could power a laptop cooling fan, but it was not available to the US. With a little work I found the power adapter in the UK but it was $30 so I decided against it for now. The Alto is a high quality unit with a very comfortable keyboard but is not a substitute for a full-flegged docking station.

This product has lived up to all its expectations. Since I'm not a major USB port issue, the power issues around this have not been a problem. I was looking for a simple stand with a full size keyboard and this fit the bill. I would reccommend this product to all.

This product was a perfect match for my laptop, it make the area that I am workimg at into the perfect work station and it take the strain off my neck from having to look down at the screen. The keyboard is very user friendly along with the extra USB ports and it's easy to cleanup. I wound buy this product again if need be and I'd recommend it to anyone that's in need of a portable office with all the convenience of a regular work area.

Bright idea, simple setup, convenient in someway. For this value, I would expect mouse included. Unfortunately hot key not assignable. Logitech techsupport could not provide any assistance upon calling for this product operation inquiry. Some laptops (in my case Dell Inspiron 6000 series) are not securely supported with very small rubberized bumps on Alto. The shape and size of those bumps should be reviewed by Logitech.

I really love my new stand. It is exactly what I wanted. The shipping was so reasonable and I got it in 2 business days. Overall, I am extremely pleased with the product and the service I got. I would not hesitate to purchase items from Buy.com again and would definitely recommend it.

clever design and very easy to use. a number of thoughtful touches that make it nice for a change to see a product that's well designed, for example: pop out feet for the keyboard, hooks for the cables-- things are where you think the would be and work perfectly. quality is pretty good and better than i expected. look is very slick. the hub works fine with ac powered items, not as well with self powered or charging things like an ipod-- my nano does not work. I have an external HD, an optical mouse, and a printer in the hub and it works fine. MAJOR complaint: you cannot buy the ac adapter from logitech anywhere. it's not on their site, and not even mentioned except in the promotional info. that's incredibly frustrating.

the stand is ok, but it has several small issues: 1) the layout of the key group between the main and numeric keys is not, I believe, standard - instead of 2 rows with 3 keys in each (insert,delete, home, end, page up, page down) it has only 5 keys. One of them is large delete (and no insert). I normally use the insert for cut/paste, and its absense is annoying 2) additional usb ports are powerless, so you can not plug into them, for example, wireless mouse transmitter 3) the supports for notebook are a little too small, they hold my Lattitude 820 for some time, but after slight vibration of the table the notebook slides to the bottom (it's not a big problem though)

The Alto is everything Logitech said it would be. For me, I bought a new Notebook computer and did not realize it had an engineering keyboard............with a very small upper case key on the right hand side of the keyboard. As a result, everytime you tried to type a letter or e-mail and capitalize something using the RH uppercase key, you ended up hitting an arrow key and moving the cursor to some other location on your document. Extremely frustrating. I would have taken the notebook back, but had already had lots of software and files loaded on the computer from my last notebook that crashed. This Alto keyboard is a life saver and offers a full-size keyboard with some nice extra's...........program keys, extra USB ports, lightweight and portable. All in all, I am very happy with this product and would purchase again.

I love my Alto! It was just what I was looking for. All the other expansion docks were a lot more money with more features than I needed. All I needed was to raise up the monitor and a keyboard. The USB ports are an added bonus. You can't beat Buy.com's price, either! I love Logitech products. Great engineering, design and quality.

Well, I must say from the overall appearance of this product, it is very high tech looking and sleek. Very innovative in the design and portable. Unlike most stands out there, non have integrated a full keyboard,yet retaining a small profile. As far as functionality, has several usb ports, ability to lock the keyboard, several different key layouts and quiet keys. The only downpoint to this is that you can't plug too many USB devices that draws power, otherwise you'd have to buy the external power adapter to help power the keyboard in order to take advantage of all the usb ports. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a laptop stand. This allows a stand and full size keyboard all intergrated into one and no more hassle in carrying the laptop stand and keyboard.

I've been using the Alto keyboard for 2 weeks. Works great! Keyboard has a good solid feel. Not like the laptop soft keys. Very hi quality construction. One thing could be improved is it came with no information on the hot keys. Could not find any information how to use them..
