5 of 5 Love this headset Friday, July 31, 2009 A Customer from Arlington, VA
I absolutely hate ear buds and wanted something to wear when I walk. These are comfortable, they have a wonderful volume control and I can stick my mp3 player and pedometer in the case that's included. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 A great set of headphones for the price I paid. Wednesday, March 18, 2009 Robert D from East Windsor, CT
I paid $18.99 for these headphones and they are worth every penny. The price is now back to $45.24 and if I were to have paid that price, I would have returned them because I don't think the sound quality justifies that kind of pricing so buy them when they go on sale again.
Pluses are great quality materials used, over-the-head style, wire at the plug has a 45 degree angle to it making it ergonomically sweet to plug and unplug, double wire headset construction making adjustment of the earpieces nice. Sound quality (bass/trebble) is great but not excellent, volume for loudness is very good.
Negatives are the volume slide knob (really not needed) which seems really cheap and fragile, earpiece cussions hurt on the ears as they press on the outer perimeter part of the ears, tension of headphones on the ears is rather tight making them uncomfortable wear for extended periods. I suppose I could try to bend the double wire to reduce the tension. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 They serve their purpose well. Friday, March 13, 2009 Afro68 from Cedar Hill, TX
I bought these to wear at work. They replaced a pair of Skullcandy over the ear headphones in the same price range. There is no comparison, these blow the Skulls out of the water. My only complaint is that since these don't fully cover the ear, after a couple of hours they can become uncomfortable. Was this review helpful?

Nice, bass response- sounds like you are in a sound chamber. Comfortable, too! Great deal, overall Was this review helpful?
1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 4 of 5 Great, but... Wednesday, February 25, 2009 Chris from New Castle, Indiana
These headphones, for what they are meant to do and for the value, are pretty amazing. The Great build quality, great sound for $19, cloth-type cable with a volume slider are pretty fantastic. BUT, there's a major problem! If you are going to be wearing these outside or anywhere where the temperature is about 50 or below, you might want to reconsider. The metal that makes up the entire headband (except for a rubber connector at the top) contracts when it is hot and becomes EXTREMELY flexible in the cold. As soon as I walk outside (about 30 degree weather) the headband gets looser and looser until it just about completely falls off my head, then when I go back indoors it begins to contract again and after a couple minutes it is back to it's original shape.
For most, I'm sure this is not a big deal, but myself being a college student and walking a lot in the winter, really hinders a great pair of headphones.
Other than that they sound pretty good. Compared to a pair of Porta-Pro's i used to have (until someone sat on them), they are dead on in the high's, just slightly lacking in the mid's, and greatly lacking in bass. The bass does sound natural and not overlly boom-ey, which I like.
My point here, is that if you will be wearing them in a warm environment, buy them, otherwise, maybe hold off. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Bad for glasses wearers... Tuesday, February 24, 2009 Hank from Blacksburg, VA
This is a really nice set of headphones...if you don't wear glasses. I can't really wear these headphones for longer than 30 minutes without them hurting my ears because they pinch my ears against my glasses. Otherwise, this is a really good deal at 18.99 and provide great sound! P.S. I love the cloth cable as well. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great BUY! Tuesday, February 24, 2009 DLHill from Kansas City
I was pleasantly surprised after receiving this set of headphones! They are light weight, adjust well for wearing comfort, and have a really full-bodied sound that I certainly didn't expect to get from phones priced this reasonably! I should have bought two or three sets! Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Nice Replacement For "Walkman" Headphone Monday, February 23, 2009 John from Wayne, NJ
The Altec Lansing UHP304 headphones are a good replacement for the old style walkman headphones. While somewhat lacking in bass you can compensate by using the Loudness (Bass Boost) control, or Equalizer on your Ipod or MP3 player. They are comfortable and fairly well isolating audiowise. Those of us that can't tolerate those "buds-in-the-ear" types are well suited for these headphones. The carrying bag is a nice touch and you can't beat the price. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good deal for the money! Monday, February 23, 2009 A Customer from Upstate, NY
I needed an inexpensive headset to use with my metal detector and it had to have it's own volume control because there isn't any volume control on the detector. The sound is great for this price, I use them all the time on my laptop as well. Nylon no tangle cord is brilliant. They seem much more expensive than the cost...
Cons: Probably can't wear them for hours and hours - there is some fatigue to your ears. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good Value Monday, February 23, 2009 A Customer from canajoharieNY
great headphones for 20 bucks....nice upgrade for my Creative Zen..the in-line volume control is not needed; and I suspect might degrade the overall sound quality somewhat...but anyway;sound quality is still very good Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Nice and inexpensive Monday, February 23, 2009 James from Philadelphia, PA
With the current trend in headphones being $200+ these are a great set of good quality, good sound, and good ergonomic headphones for a great price. Perfect for your teenage audiophile who spends way too much time with earbuds in... start now and save their hearing and lower the number of ear infections they get.
Negatives: Earphones are "on ear" type, and while very comfortable they were being sold as "over ear"... they are not large enough to engulf the entire ear, so they are not good for sound critical applications. Inline volume control is not really functional... it cuts sound in random increments and not evenly from both headphones. Cord though nice fabric isn't thick enough... it is permanently twisted already from the factory. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great buy for the 24 dollars I spent! Monday, February 23, 2009 A Customer from Tacoma WA
These are excellent. They are not very tight fit and others around you can hear easily. the cord is made out of nylon, which is great! They are light weight and have great bass. They are not rugged by any means but are very durrable, come with a carry case, also in addition to having a very long nylon cord, there is a volume adjust on the cord. I got a couple of compliments on how they look stylish and expensive. People who give bad reviews probably got a lemon. The truth is that a lot of products Buy.com sells are refurbished/or have had some isssue with the original design. These are worth the price! Buy them! Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Excelent sound quality-poor volume control Monday, February 23, 2009 Dale Doane from Grand Rapids, Michigan
I received the Altec Lansing UHP304 in 2 days even though I used the free super saver shipping. Thank you Buy.com. The sound quality is excelent and the headset durability seems excelent as well. The in line volume control however is not usable as it must be set to full volume to function. The volume on one side or the other drops out completely if set anywhere else. Also, I find adjusting the earpiece position difficult as it is too tight. Once adjusted it works well. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 I love them..and great price Monday, February 23, 2009 Jim Higby from Aurora, Nebraska
After using 2 sets of earpods, which are both good, it is refreshing to use the new headset. I use a computer sound system from Altec Lansing also, and did expect the headphones to be good, but even with that mindset I was surprised at how good they really are...and a very good price! 5 of 5 Great buy! Sunday, February 22, 2009 AluminumKen from Surprise, AZ
Super headphones for the price. Could do without the volume control built into the cord. Cord length is excellent but tends to easily twist. I use with my Sansa MP3. Great sound and very comfortable. Was this review helpful?

All the positive review are bogus! at least to me! I read the reviews and purchased the product, viola! terrible cheap design product. The worse sound quality i have ever experience a pair of headphone. I wrote a review with all 1 and 2 rating and buy dot com would post it. See if this one come up so you won't fall for this. 5 of 5 Awesome. Tuesday, December 23, 2008 Kimberly from Virginia Beach, Virginia
I absolutely love them. The treble sound is crisp and clear and the bas is thunderous. They are by far the best headphones I've ever purchased. I would recommend them to any and everyone. I only had one issue with them. They aren't very comfortable when lying down in bed listening to music. All in all the best yet. Bravo.... Was this review helpful?

4 of 5 Great Monday, September 29, 2008 A Customer from Sacramento, CA
I use these everyday for about 7 hours listening to Sirius radio. They work great. Sound is excellent. The volume control in-line works great & is very convenient. They look wonderful.
2 cons
- They are very snug and after 7 hours of use, my earlobes ache a bit. To remedy, I was able to stretch the metal band wider, & now after 7 hours, it's just a minor discomfort. 1 or 2 hours is no problem.
- They are not air tight so sound does leak & people around you may be bothered if close enough or in a quiet area. For what I use it for, it's not a problem. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good headphones Monday, September 15, 2008 A Customer from Salt Lake City, Utah
Very lightweight, flexible, and well put together. Sound quality is great, very crisp and loud. Love the cloth cable. Overall pleasantly impressed with these headphones, only con is the on-ear design does tend to cause some discomforts after a couple hours continuous use. Was this review helpful?
