5 of 5 Plug and Play Friday, December 15, 2006 A Customer from Saint Louis, MO
It is hard to get excited by a USB 2.0 card, but this one does exactly what it is supposed to. Plug it into an open PCI slot on your Mac and you have four more USB ports (great for my older Mac). No additional drivers are needed. Now, I will be able to load my newer iPod at full speed instead of through the USB 1.1 bottleneck. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good Product at a Good Price Monday, November 06, 2006 Steve H. from Long Island, New York
I was having an issue with a scanner not working properly. I found out it requires USB 2.0. My PC only had USB 1.1. The Adaptec 4-port USB 2.0 card solved my problem immediately. My scanner is now functioning properly. The hefty rebate was a nice plus too. I highly recommend this product AAA+++ Was this review helpful?

I had purchased a PCI card for USB for my Mac from another manufacturer. That card had a VIA chip. While advertised as working with Mac OSX, it did not. They exchanged it for an identical one which also did not work, even with the Mac driver from the VIA web site. Quite discouraging. But this card worked immediately, and it worked without needing to install a driver. I am completely satisfied with it. It came with a rebate which makes it quite a bargain.
And the shipping! First, it's free, so it's supposed to be slower "budget" shipping; then it gets to my house about 40 hours from the time I ordered it. Wow. (Glad I didn't pay extra for faster shipping). I'm impressed. Good merchandise, good price, and fast shipping. A wonderful first experience on buy.com. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Adaptec USB2Connect 4000 4-Port USB 2.0 PCI Card Tuesday, October 31, 2006 A Customer from Silver Spring, MD
Card installation was straightforward and the new USB ports were detected quickly and automatically by Windows XP. A trouble-free process - will have to see how the $24 Adaptec rebate works out. The product specified on the Buy.com receipt had a somewhat different name than the product specifed on the Adaptec rebate form, and the Adaptec packaging lacked a UPC bar code, which is required by the Adaptec rebate form.
Files on my 1 GB flash card were quickly displayed in My Computer - no complaints on performance. I like the vertical orientation of the USB ports - wider flash cards do not encroach on adjacent ports. Was this review helpful?
