 Editor's Note
When wiseguy Tommy Spinelli is charged with transporting a bag full of heads to his employer in beautiful San Diego, an identical-bag snafu inevitably occurs at the baggage claim. The heads touch down in Mexico in the possession of an overworked, vacationing medical student, and madcap, macabre capital humor ensues. Produced by the creative team behind "Dumb and Dumber" and "Kingpin."

| | Professional Reviews | Los Angeles Times "...Consistently inventive....Comeau comes across likably..." 04/18/1997 p.F2San Francisco Examiner 7 of 10 Tom Schulman, who won an Oscar for his Dead Poets Society script, is clearly a capable guy. His work, which includes Medicine Man and Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, can be uneven, but he has certain instincts that see him through the rough spots. Eight Heads in a Duffel Bag is the first film he's directed and the effort shows tremendous promise. Parts of this movie are extremely funny. Parts sag into cliche... But the premise is pretty solid... Coyotes, a blind laundress, car thieves, a musical nightmare and an inquisitive dog all play their parts in this cheery comedy. Pesci is wonderful as always. Hamilton and Cannon lay it on a bit thick but they serve the purpose. Especially fine are Spade and Louiso, the latter possessing a quality of injured integrity that is priceless here... - Barbara Shulgasser James Berardinelli's ReelViews 7 of 10 8 Heads In A Duffel Bag definitely isn't for everyone. But if you have a twisted sense of humor and can see the comedy in films like Weekend at Bernie's, this movie is right up your alley... Not surprisingly, the most interesting performer in the film is lead actor Joe Pesci. In the midst of all the madcap zaniness, Pesci plays his role mostly straight--a weary hitman who just wants to complete one last job so he can retire. Some of 8 Heads' best moments come as a result of Pesci's even-handed approach to the material...
