I have a loaded machine and a number of additional peripherals and I bought two with the SD card readers. an excellent decision on my part, so I have a home for my camera, external DVD writer, 2nd camera, PDA, printer, external speakers, iPod, etc. The best part is how little space they consume. The powered hub is a real plus with this as it doesn't overtax the bus with the many ports it adds. The card reader is the real reason I was looking at this since my current SD reader isn't compatible with SDHC cards, and it works smoothly as expected. I have to say that I was surprised by how easily these two products were to use . Right out of the box , plug and play . When I bought my first sdhc card , I didn't know I needed an hc cardreader to download my pictures . I saw this sale advertised in your weekly specials , and ordered it . As always , delivery was prompt and in this case free . The products plugged in and worked right away . The SDHC reader was fast and the files downloaded immediately . I brought two units, one for my son and one for me. Both unit works fine out of the box. The reason I brought it because both my son and I needed to access the USB port in conveince location.
The card reader was not important....it only read SDHC card only.
Although I already have a card reader for the SD card, I keep it in my camera bag. One thing would be better, if the USB cable provided would be longer. All in all, it was as expected from other reviewers. Was this review helpful?

Some problems.
Device will not allow computer to return from standby when a/c power supply is connected.
As long as the a/c power supply is disconnected the devices attached keyboard, mouse, printers) function ok.
Have not attempted to use card reader function.

Works great. I use it as a docking port at home. I just plug my laptop in and all my USB devices come up. And being powered, my portable USB drive also comes up and does it automatic backup when I plug in a single USB cable. Was this review helpful?
