5 of 5 Excellent for hand problems Wednesday, March 18, 2009 Lynn from Madison, AL
Since I suffer from arthritis, I have been seeking a mouse that is comfortable to my hand, yet still easy to use and functional. This is it! I am very pleased with the way this mouse fits my hand - being able to order two different sizes makes a big difference. Not only is it comfortable, but it's as easy to use as a standard mouse. The buttons being on the top make it very easy to use them. The only negative is that I find that I move it in larger circles when I'm moving the pointer around a page, but I expect that will diminish over time. All in all, this is a definite winner!! 2 of 5 Check you size Tuesday, March 18, 2008 Jeff from Wisconsin
I was not offered a size choice. When it arrived, the packaging had a measuring line on the side so the customer in a store could pick regular or large. My hand grip is a bit narrow and I would have bought the large size. Also, it is corded and the cord is a bit stiff so I find myself dealing with the cord as I use the mouse. For $47 I am not too impressed. If you need relief from mousing, trying using a cordless and switching left to right hand. Never have your wrist c*cked back when you type or mouse. You can get proficient with the other hand in about two weeks. Was this review helpful?
2 of 5 Didn't work well for me Friday, April 06, 2007 A Customer from Redmond WA
I found it difficult to make small precise movements with this mouse. It is too tall to fit on a keyboard tray under a desk. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Everyone will go What the heck is that? Monday, April 24, 2006 Jemin from Marietta, GA
I was feeling soreness in my index finger from too much button clicking.
It was beginnings of a Repeated Stress Injury. (RSI)
I bought many different alternatives: trackpad, trackball, etc.
But the 3M ergonomic mouse is clearly the winner in my mind.
This mouse positions your forearm in a natural 'handshake' alignment so your arm is not twisted and placed under tension.
What's more, it makes use of your thumb and ringfinger+pinky for button clicking.
Thumb for right/left clicks and ring+pinky for scroll.
It's very easy to get used to.
By releaving the index and middle fingers from repeated stress, I was able to recover fast.
But is not a good choice for fast paced gaming although it's shaped like a joystick.
The high center of gravity makes the mouse prone to tilting.
Also the buttons are not as ultra soft and responsive like the amazing modern mice by Microsoft and Logitech.
Oh and make sure you buy the right size for your hand.
This is very important as this mouse comes in two sizes.
For anyone feeling sore in the forearm or your clicking fingers, I highly recommend this ergonomic mouse.
You'll find yourself using your whole forearm for mousing (which is the proper way), your overworked index finger will get some rest, and scrolling is much easier with the 3M middle button.

5 of 5 Definitely worth it, especialy if you keep your ol Monday, March 27, 2006 A Customer from South Bend, IN
I purchased this mouse after suffering from increasing wrist pain. I felt results right away. To some people who never held a joystick it might be awkward at first, but to me it was very natural.
For best results keep your old mouse too. I have mine side by side, and when I really need a wheel or want to change the position of my hand I switch to the old mouse.
Sometimes I find the old mouse more precise in pinpointing something in a graphic program, but for the wrist problems the ergonomic mouse helps a lot.
At least for me, there is no conflict in using both devices at the same time, both connected via USB ports. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Really Works Thursday, March 23, 2006 C. Hough from Crystal Lake, IL
I use the mouse heavily and was feeling sore in my wrist. I ordered this mouse to get rid of the wrist pain. A friend who had surgery due to Carpel Tunnel Syndrome recommended it. After using this mouse, my wrist felt better very quickly and has not been sore since. I had a few models made last year that had a problem double clicking on a single click but 3M delivered my replacements free of charge. In Jan of 2006 they came out with an updated clicker and there is no more problem. If you have any soreness in your wrist from your mouse, I highly recommend this mouse. Was this review helpful?

I've been using this mouse since 1998, before it was optical, and before 3M bought out the original makers. Now I have the optical version. It has literally saved my arm and my career. Before I used it, I was developing RSS and needed to use an arm brace and glove. Since I've started using this mouse, I haven't needed a brace and my arm no longer aches and hurts.
As far as I'm concerned, there are no drawbacks. It works, mouse pad or no mouse pad. Most of my co-workers ended up on disability, never able to use a PC (or, at least, a PC that requires a mouse) again. I 200% recommend this mouse. If you have RSS, you will notice an improvement as soon as you start to use it. However, I have noticed that other people who try to use my PC get frustrated trying to use my mouse for the first time. Was this review helpful?

I've been using this mouse a couple weeks now and the old wrist pain is gone. I'm glad I bought this mouse, but I want to point out three negatives: 1) there is no scroll wheel (a major annoyance), 2) the optical resolution could be better (tiny motions can be difficult), and 3) once in a while I have to slap the device against the desk to get it to show a cursor on the screen. That last one could be a conflict with the 3 other USB pointing devices I'm using simultaneously, though.
I make up for the lack of a scroll wheel by keeping my old mouse (with its scroll wheel) under my left hand. Was this review helpful?
