I like this software. The Site Advisor has already been useful. Best of all, it's NOT NORTON, which is both a pain to work with and whose business practices are despicable (it actually made it so I couldn't download an image from the web when I didn't renew it - so irritating!). The reasonable price is another big plus.

only good for 90 days, buy.com states the value is $35 is wrong. The ad should clearly state it is not a 1 year subscription

Have installed this and McAfee Internet Security on several computers and have had no problems. They seem to be lighter on resources than the free software I was using.

Very satisfied with the product so far. Very easy to install. I wound recommend this product over the other free antivirus software found online. The McAfee hasn't slowed down the computer much. I have known other I found the best price for this product at buy.com via dealjuggler.com. They have the best shopping deals.

Consumers Reports rated this as the # 2 AV program and I tend to agree with them. There are a couple of small issues with it but overall it works very good. I really like the site adviser, I just wish it worked in the Flock browser since I use that a lot. The other thing is that they could make it a little easier to configure. Its annoying to have to drill down through all the menu tabs to get to the firewall settings. One more thing is the program registration. I have fought with that a bit. Once it has been installed on your computer it likes to stay registered to the account you started with. If you upgrade it takes the account from the existing version. Once its locked in it doesn't really give you a way to change if you change accounts. As an AV goes its aggressive in scanning but doesn't interfere with normal functions. I have a pen drive that has a program on it that McAfee doesn't like and every time I insert it in a machine with McAfee on it it volunteers to delete it. But it asks first. We are using this program on all the county library computers and its yet to be compromised. With all the stuff the patrons throw at it the computers are still clean.

Although I would have preferred Total Protection, this works just as good. Easy to install, a good price and received it very quickly.

As an I.T. professional, I've use McAfee and other well-known anti-virus software tools at my employment. Most of them are "good enough" anti-virus tools. They get the job done. But when it comes down to securring my own personal computers and data AND shelling out my own personal money for an anti-virus product; I want more than "good enough". It was a "no-brainer" to select McAfee as my personal choice. They've been in this business a lot longer than their competitors and have seemed to perfect the art of anti-virus. McAfee is easy to install and you can rest knowing that it is safely working behind the scenes to protect your computer and keeping ALL of your confidential data, secure and away from "hackers", and identity theft dirtbags ..............I highly recommend this product !

I experienced the same problems as some of the others. I am told by McAfee that my computer is not protected and although I had no problems with installation and registration, the service person told me that the software is not registered. I used McAfee Total Protection last year although it was uninstalled during the installation process, it still may be interfering with the performance of VirusScan. I also keep getting a pop-up ad to purchase McAfee Total Protection 2009. I have had great luck in the past with McAfee, but not this time.

I run this suite on my new hp computer and now my new Toshiba laptop. I read about it in the Consumer Reports magazine. It was one of the top rated suites available. I've been very happy using it. Easy to install and was a breeze to set up scheduled tasks to help make my computer run faster and to be more secure. Definitely recommend the product and Buy.com.

My existing McAfee subscritpion was about to expire. The web site McAfee sent me to first tried to sell me three licenses for $69, then a single one for $39, I think it was. Then, just in time, Buy.com sent me an email advertising this software at $9.99! Great price. Way to go Buy.com! Love you guys! Now as far as McAfee goes, I renewed the license as it was easier to do this than trying to uninstall McAfee and install something else like AVG (free). McAfee with its "Site-Advisor" tries to commandeer your browser by putting in a browser search bar and really slows down anything you try to do when it is analysing all these sites. It also grabs browser realestate for its own icon. I had to "unenable" that functionality. It was pulling up so many Win handles in the background that other processes were choking! So, McAfee Virus Scan and Firewall are pretty good, but the customer service experience from McAfee and their "Site-Advisor" leave a lot to be desired.

It is very simple, easy to use and DOES NOT USE all available resources in your computer in order to protect it. I have had many other Anti virus aoftware and so far this is the best one.

this product is well worth the price, considering that without good virus protection it will cost you dearly,when and if you are infected. this product is easy to install, provides great protection, and at a very reasonable in price. don't download the freebie virus protection that do not have the complete protection this product offers.

I've been using the 2008 version since switching from a constantly trouble-prone Norton AV one year ago. The user interface is not as slick but I've had no problems with it on my Dell. It works quietly in the background with the occasional pop-up notifying me that it did something. If you've been annoyed by pestering problems with other AV products it's worth a try.

Mcafee is a good brand to invest in, but it took me awhile for it to download into my computer. After getting in installed it immediately went to work on pulling everything up and out. the Settings are pretty simple to set up for your computer, you can actually forget that you did make settings. it's that easy.

Buy.com has the best prices. This software works great. When doing a search on something it scans the website to prevent a virus from attacking computer. The shipping is also very fast.

Its very good and very easy to install. It works great. When a new internet page is opened that may have malicious content - the Site Advisor always gives a notification. This is very very useful. I like it.

The price was good; all else terrible. 1. McAfee automated the install, BUT still downloaded nearly 70 Mb of information. Why ship a CD at all? Time consuming even with high speed. 2. It's not just for virus, they also want to control your computer. I declined everything except virus and now constantly see a message that my computer is not protected. Yes it is: AND my computer remains MINE. 3. The program is a resource HOG - my single 2.0 gig processor runs much slower than with McAfee 2008. This is the last McAfee I will ever use. I plan to try the antivirus offered by Sunbelt Software - marketed to be low resource consumer.

I have compaq presario R4000 laptop with 512MB RAM and it got slowed down during the start as well as during the browsing. I have been using this laptop with no anti virus program on it for more than an year. When I installed, it did not find any virus, spyware or tracking cookies. I wonder if this product really works.

McAfee always seems to play Pepsi to Symantec's Coke, but at $15, VirusScan Plus 2009 seems to do as good a job for a lot less money.
