There’s a wonderful twist in characters as Cole begins to believe he’s crazy and his psychiatrist has to convince him he’s right. Brad Pitt was nominated for an Oscar for his stand-out portrayal of a mental patient.

Troy leaves the talking to its triumvirate of Hollywood royalty – Brian Cox, Brendan Gleeson, and Peter O’Toole. The dying is left up to the chiseled and marketable studs – Eric Bana, Orlando Bloom, and Brad Pitt. Whenever a member of the veteran trio interacts with a member of the other on screen, it creates a mismatch of talent not even a Trojan Horse could overcome.

In the words of George Peppard from his immortal role on TV’s The A-Team, I love it when a plan comes together, and, man, does it ever come together in nearly every possible way in Steven Soderbergh’s very clever, stylish, slick, and engrossing remake of the Rat Pack ensemble heist film Ocean’s Eleven.
Since his feature debut with sex, lies and videotape, Soderbergh has walked the tenuous line between art and entertainment. He very rarely insults his audiences’ intelligence or sense of humor or style -- even when he busted into the Hollywood big time. Now, a year after picking up his Oscar for the epic Traffic, he shows his range by dipping back into his old cheeky, seductive comedic bag of tricks last seen in Out of Sight. read the full review

Dominik's adaptation of Ron Hansen's novel begins near the end of Jesse's criminal career. Elder brother Frank (Sam Shepard) has agreed to one more train heist. The James gang -- in need of local muscle -- recruits an inadequate group which includes star-struck brother Charley (Sam Rockwell) and Robert Ford (Affleck). Following the job, Robert worms his way into Jesse's confidence, lighting a lengthy fuse on a powder keg of idol worship that will consume the lives of many men along the way. read the full review

It also proves just how dismal a sequel Ocean's Twelve was, taking the characters away from their home in Vegas and tossing them around the world. The third movie in the franchise sees the troupe return to Vegas, and a return to the antics and banter that made Ocean's Eleven so much fun. Truly, this is the sequel the first film deserved. read the full review
