You have to wonder why George Lucas didn't immediately call his lawyers. Heck, even the joke about Vader killing off one of his commanders and then telling another fearful man "congratulations, you've been promoted" is ripped-off lock, stock and barrel in the film. The rest is firmly rooted in the reality of school yard and home-life troubles, familiar to anyone who didn't quite fit in during these formative years.
