 | | Dreamgirls (Blu-ray) | | Videos/DVDs: See more matches | | | Video Reviews Available: 1 | | Dreamgirls - DVD By: TV and Film Guy - Blogcritics.org Reviews Published on: 4/30/2007 7:34 AM | | Even so, the movie does provide enough shimmer, enough glitz, and enough good music (on stage, not off) that it is unquestionably fun to sit down and watch. With strong performances by Jennifer Hudson, Eddie Murphy, Danny Glover, Jamie Foxx, and others, there is little doubt as to why it was nominated for so many acting awards. I must state though, as has been stated elsewhere, that Jennifer Hudson’s role was not really a supporting one as much as a lead. read the full review | |

 | | War Inc (Blu-ray) coming soon! | | Videos/DVDs: See more matches | | | War, Inc. - Blu-Ray Review By: Paul Brenner - filmcritic.com DVD Reviews Published on: 10/3/2008 3:49 PM | |
The road to Hell is paved with good intentions, and in the case of John Cusack's over-the-top satire of the Iraq War, War, Inc., the intentions are obvious and the road leads to a particular place in Hell presided over by filmmakers (Stanley Kramer resides on the throne there) who want to fight the good fight but use a two-by-four pounded into the back of a viewer's head to emphasize the obvious. As writer/producer/star of War, Inc. Cusack wants to make a statement about the venality of the United States' involvement in Iraq and wants to make that statement in the worst way. And, unfortunately, he does. Cusack attempts to reconceive the hit man premise of Grosse Point Blank as a lacerating and biting political satire in the vein of Dr. Strangelove or Wag the Dog. read the full review | |
